Thanks to a massive storm system that dumped inches of rain on Westchester, busy parkways within the county are affected by various closures caused by flooding.
The closures, which have resulted from a storm that brought 2 to 3 inches of rain to the region on Tuesday, Jan. 9 into Wednesday, Jan. 10, are affecting the Bronx River and Saw Mill River Parkways, Westchester County Police announced on Wednesday morning.
These closures currently include:
Saw Mill River Parkway:
- The northbound and southbound lanes at Route 119 in Elmsford are closed;
- The northbound lanes between I-87 in Elmsford and Eastview are closed;
- The southbound lanes between Lawrence Street in Dobbs Ferry and Nepperhan Avenue are closed;
- The northbound lanes between Tuckahoe Road (Exit 7) and Hearst Street (Exit 10) are closed;
- The northbound lanes between Farragut Parkway (Exit 13) and Lawrence Street are closed.
Bronx River Parkway:
- Both directions are currently closed between the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers and the Westchester County Center in White Plains;
- The northbound lanes at the East 233rd Street Exit in New York City are also closed.
